Reed T. Miller Scholarship Fund
Invest in yourself. Bring it home.
Reed T. Miller's career took him across the country, but Blooming Prairie was always home.
A 1980 graduate of Blooming Prairie High School, Reed continued his education in aviation management before beginning a successful 32-year career as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration. His work took him from Oklahoma City to North Dakota, Michigan, and eventually back to Minnesota. Along the way, Reed became known not only for his skill and quick thinking, but for mentoring others and believing people deserved the opportunity to succeed.
No matter where his career took him, Blooming Prairie was where Reed belonged. It was the community he loved, the place he continued to call home, and the place he wanted to see thrive for generations to come.
The Reed T. Miller Scholarship Fund was created in that spirit.
This scholarship is intended for people in the Blooming Prairie community who are ready to take the next step in their education, develop a skill, learn a trade, earn a certification or degree, or pursue additional training that will allow them to grow professionally and bring that knowledge and talent back to benefit Blooming Prairie.
Education doesn't have to begin at 18, and opportunity doesn't have an expiration date. Sometimes the most meaningful investment we can make in a community is investing in the people who are already part of it.
Whether you're looking to advance in your current profession, change careers, learn a trade, earn a new credential, or pursue an education that could fill a need right here at home, we want to hear your story.
There is no annual application deadline. Applications are accepted throughout the year and considered based on the applicant's goals, educational plans, and the potential impact their education could have on Blooming Prairie.
